EXPERIENCE

Bob has been active in executive search nearly twenty years, and is one of the preeminent insurance industry search experts. Prior to his executive search career, Bob spent eighteen years with Aetna Life & Casualty where he held management positions in pensions, personal and commercial insurance, finance, information technology and human resources. Bob is the founder and President of The Desmond Group, LLC, located outside of Tampa, Florida. Prior, he served as a Managing Director with two of the top five international search firms, specializing in recruiting executives for the insurance, asset management and pension industries, with a particular focus in technology related assignments. Since 1990 he has conducted a wide range of searches within the insurance industry with a particular focus in the institutional pension product segment. Executive search assignments have included functional areas such as sales / marketing, product management, actuarial specialists, operations and communications. He has also conducted assignments in banking, healthcare, manufacturing and hospitality sectors.

A graduate of St. Anselm College with a BA in History, Bob is also a Chartered Life Underwriter and a member of the American Society of Pension Actuaries.
